About Elite Landscape & Mini Excavation

Shane started his landscaping journey at the age of 11, doing various jobs for neighbors and helping his parents around the house. By 13, he had 8 regular clients and was working at local berry farms to gain more experience. He quickly realized he wanted to work independently, knowing his hard work ethic would expand his horizons. Shane bought his first truck at the age of 15, expanding his business through Craigslist ads and word of mouth, which quickly led to the purchase of a trailer. One of Shane’s proudest moments was when he landed his first $10,000 project in which he landscaped a whole yard and laid 105 yards of bark down! He upgraded to a Ford F150 and dual-axle trailers, working non-stop during high school summers, growing his business to an astounding 40-50 clients at a time. That year, 17-year old Shane’s greatest achievement was working 100 consecutive days straight!

After graduation, Shane enrolled at the University of Providence to study Business and Marketing, while his dad took over the business temporarily. While in Montana, Shane started another landscape company in Great Falls with 20 major clients and juggled managing both businesses while studying. By the time he graduated in 2018, the business had expanded significantly, with multiple trucks and trailers servicing clients in two states. Upon graduation, Shane returned home to Ferndale and launched Elite Landscape & Mini Excavation LLC, expanding into excavation work. Today, we serve 150+ clients, with a fleet of 5 trucks, 8 trailers, an excavator, and all the tools needed for any job. We’re committed to delivering high-quality work and we look forward to continuing our success in the years ahead. Shane chose the word “Elite” for his business for a reason — he truly wants every job he does for his clients to be superior in quality!
